Learning Commons at the CBE
Today’s learners cannot imagine life without the internet and supporting technology. The concept of the traditional library is changing to include technology, online tools and spaces for collaboration and exploration.
Citadel Park's Learning Commons is a vital place where inquiry, discovery, creativity and collaboration come to life. Learning is personalized, engaging, rich and authentic for students. Students work cooperatively and collaboratively to delve deeper into exploring new topics in meaningful ways .
Borrowing Rules
Students will receive a library card that they will keep in their classrooms.
Kindergarten and Grade 1 – Students may take out one book at a time and have the option of renewing it.
Grade 2-6 – Students may take out two books at a time and have the option of renewing them.
The loan period for students is 2 weeks.
The Learning Commons is open each school day during regular school hours and students are able to access the Learning Commons on a daily basis.
Students are encouraged to use the library learning commons regularly and are allowed to exchange resources as needed at the discretion of their classroom teachers.
There are no overdue fines but in the event that materials are damaged or lost, they will need to be replaced or paid for by the borrower. All library materials need to be treated respectfully
