This is always a time of mixed emotions in schools. While we look forward to our summer break, it also the time we have to say goodbye to some of our colleagues. First, we would like to wish Ms. Quantz a very enjoyable retirement. After many years teaching with a significant number in grade 1, she is moving on to the next phase of her life journey. The difficult part about retiring, especially from teaching, is that you miss it. I know we will see Ms. Quantz back in our building periodically as a substitute teacher. All the best Ms. Quantz!

Ms. Harvey is also leaving Citadel Park School this year as she has accepted a part time position at Edgemont School teaching physical education and well-being. Thank you Ms. Harvey for all the work you have done to support our physical education program over the years as well as your classroom teaching in kindergarten and grade 1. We wish you all the best at your new school.

We are sad to also be saying goodbye to the following teachers who have joined us over the course of the year:

  • Ms. Zhurovlova
  • Mr. Tham
  • Ms. Stetz
  • Ms. Housh
  • Mr. Leung

We thank each of you for stepping in and providing continuity of learning for our students. All the best wherever your teaching career takes you. We will formally say goodbye to these staff members and our departing students at our farewell assembly Tuesday afternoon.

Due to changes in staffing and the influx of new students that can continue to occur throughout the summer, we do not share homeroom teachers with families in June. This information will be shared on the first day of school in August.

As we say farewell to another year, we wish everyone a safe, restful and enjoyable summer holiday!

We look forward to seeing students back at school on Thursday, August 29, 2024.
