The first week of April was certainly full of weather surprises. This week is looking beautiful! Please stop by and check out our 'lost but not yet found' items that we will be placing outside on sunny days. There are numerous items looking for their person! CPS School Council will be holding their monthly meeting this Wednesday April 9 from 6:30-8:00 pm. This is hybrid meeting so parents/guardians are encouraged to join in-person or online using the link below. We also encourage parents/guardians to follow the CPS council Instagram account at @Citadelparkparent Microsoft Teams Need help? Meeting ID: 253 266 071 535 Passcode: tu2bw68f Our students have really enjoyed the dance residency by SoundKreations this week. This week students will share their newly acquired skills with a performance on April 10. Kindergarten, Grades 1, 2 and 4 will perform in the morning at 10:50am. Students in PM Kindergarten, Grades 3, and 5 will perform in the afternoon at 2:45pm. Each performance will be approximately 45 minutes long. Parents are welcome to attend their child's performance. Doors will open approximately 10 minutes before the performance begins. Families should have received a message from the school last week advising of enrolment for next year. We are currently sitting at 531 students, up 31 students from the beginning of the school year. We are projected next year for 496 students. As we look forward to our receiving our budget in the coming weeks, we are urging families to advise us as soon as possible if they know their child will not be returning to Citadel Park School next year. Families can contact the school office at 403-777-8063 or via email at Citadel@cbe.ab.ca to provide updates. Given our school capacity of 481 students, Citadel Park School has a ‘closed’ status related to non-resident students. Administrative Regulation 6090 - Child and Student Registration and Admission outlines that only students who reside in the communities of Arbour Lake and Citadel are eligible to attend CPS school for grades 1-5 next year. Therefore, if you have moved throughout the year (i.e. no longer reside in either Arbour Lake or Citadel) you will be re-directed to register at your designated school for the upcoming school year. Should you have any questions about this process, please contact Principal, Carrie Edwards via email at cledwards@cbe.ab.ca We appreciate your understanding in this matter as heading into budget with the most accurate numbers is helpful for planning and staffing for the upcoming school year. Enrolment numbers are also having an impact on transportation. This week we will be contacting some families of students on Bus A who will be re-directed to Bus C. These changes willt take effect on Wednesday April 9th. The stop location for impacted students will not be changing. We are simply moving students to balance out the numbers of students per bus. More informationto impacted families will be forthcoming on Tuesday. Fashion Friday will be dress as your favourite animal for pet day. Important dates this week include: April 7 – 11 – Education Week April 12 -20 – Passover |
