Five more get ups til Winter Break!

We would like to acknowledge the tremendous efforts of our kindergarten to grade 2 students and our grade 3-5 choir students who performed at our Winter Celebration last Thursday. What a great turn out of families and friends to listen to the beautiful voices of our students. A big thank you to Ms. Rickard who spent weeks preparing the students for their performance and to Ms. Baniak who supported her with the choir.

This week we will be saying goodbye to two members of our staff. First, we would like to thank Coralie Hatfield for the learning opportunities she has provided to our afternoon kindergarten children for the past 4 months. Secondly, we would also like to thank Faizah Ahmed for her support in the lunchroom for the past few years. We wish you both all the best.

There are a number of days of significance between now and our next message. See below:

To share in the festive spirit, we also have a week of spirit activities. Alternating pm and am from Tuesday to Friday we will be carolling in the gym as well as host a student viewing of the Winter Celebration tomorrow afternoon. Additionally, if students wish to dress the part, the following spirit wear days have been assigned:

  • Monday December 16 – Festive Colours Day
    • Wear your favourite holiday colours
  • Tuesday December 17 – Deck Your Head Day
    • Showcase crazy holiday hats, hairdos or festive head accessories
  • Wednesday December 18 – Who’s Who of the Holidays?
    • Dress as your favourite character from a book, movie or song
  • Thursday December 19 – Holiday Sweater Extravaganza
    • Break out the ugly holiday sweater or shirt for some laughs and cheers
  • Friday December 20 – Snuggle Up for the Holidays
    • Wear your comfiest pyjamas to kick off the holiday break in a comfy and cozy way

Tomorrow, Monday December 16 is the deadline for items to be purchased and delivered to the school for the Giving Tree. This will allow just enough time for our elves to finish the wrapping and deliver the gifts. Should you have any questions, please email us at: citadelparkschoolcouncil@gmail.com

We wish everyone a relaxing and safe winter break! Enjoy!
