It’s here! The last week of school. Just 4 get ups left!

Thank you to the families who were able to join us for our grade 5 farewell last Friday. We would especially like to thank our cake cutters and servers Ms. Ditto, Ms. Leslie and Ms. Singh, as well as Ms. Wedel our decoration guru!

The end of year is always a time of mixed emotions in schools. While we look forward to our summer break, it is also the time we have to say goodbye to some of our colleagues. We are sad to be saying goodbye to the following staff members:

  • Ms. Baniak – teacher
  • Ms. Buonomo – education assistant
  • Ms. Burns – teacher
  • Ms. Galvan – teacher
  • Ms. Lau – lead lunch supervisor
  • Ms. Will – teacher

We thank each of you for your dedication, whether it was for a short time or a longer time, and support you have provided for students and staff. We are grateful to have had you as a member of the CPS team. All the best wherever your next steps may take you. We will formally say goodbye to these staff members and our departing students at our farewell assembly Thursday morning.

Due to changes in staffing and the influx of new students that continues to occur throughout the summer, we do not share homeroom teachers with families in June. This information will be shared on the first day of school in August.

We are so excited that, as of now, the weather looks great for sports day Wednesday June 25 beginning at 9:30 am. As a special ‘fashion day’ we encourage everyone to wear tie-dye! Please remember to apply sunscreen at home and send your child(ren) dressed for a morning of play outside. Outdoor running shoes, a hat and a water bottle, all labelled with your child’s name, are encouraged. We couldn’t make an event like this happen without volunteers. Thank you so much to the volunteers for giving of your time to come and join us. Communication has been sent to all volunteers who will meet up with Ms. Bates in the gym just after 9:00 am. Thanks also goes out to our CPS School Council who supply a popsicle for every student.

Ms. Kruger would like to remind families that we still have we are still missing 242 library books and look forward to having all books returned by Wednesday this week. Please take a careful look at home for any possible CPS library books.

A last reminder about paying outstanding fees. Please long into your MyCBE account to complete this transaction. Should you have questions, please contact Ms. Talerico in the school office at 403-777-8063.

Speaking of MyCBE accounts, this is also where you will find your child’s year end report card as schools no longer print report cards to send home. Report cards go live to families on Wednesday June 25. The last day for parents to view/print a copy of this year’s report card is Friday July 25.

Students’ final day of school is Thursday June 26 and it is a half day, dismissing at the usual half-day time for CPS at 1:15 pm. There is no school for students Friday.

Students have been and will continue to bring home school supplies and materials throughout the next few days. An extra bag tucked into their backpack may be helpful.

As we say farewell to another year, we wish everyone a safe, restful and enjoyable summer holiday!

See you September 2, 2025 for our first day of school!

Have a great final week!
