We hope everyone is enjoying an extra fall long weekend! Thank you to the families who were able to join us for our Orange Shirt Day assembly. The grade 5’s did a great job of explaining the importance of Orange Shirt Day and the connection to reconciliation. There are a many more opportunities to show your support on the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation on Tuesday September 30. We hope families will take some time to reflect and connect ‘in a good way’ to mark this important day. There is no school tomorrow as it is a professional development day for teachers. We will be continuing our work related to our school development plan goal with a focus on targeted and intensive vocabulary instruction strategies. Families registered for yellow school bus transportation received confirmation emails on Monday, Sept. 22, 2025. Registered families who have decided not to use bus service can cancel their registration in MyCBE with no financial impact by Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2025. If you do not cancel by this deadline, fees will continue to be charged until a cancellation is received, regardless of actual usage. Retro-active fee refunds will not be provided. Transportation fees will be loaded into MyCBE later in October. 2025-26 School Year Fees are:
No action is required for registered families who will use bus service for the school year. At this time there is no further information regarding potential labour action by teachers. In the event that labour action does occur, the CBE will message families accordingly. Until such time, we look forward to seeing students in attendance beginning Wednesday this week. And speaking of Wednesday October 1st, that is Picture Day! Please ensure students are dressed for individual photos – class photos will be taken later in the school year. We will ensure all students who are in attendance will have a photo taken. If your child is away, photo retake day is November 6. We would like to welcome Ms. Wong back from her leave and thank Ms. Burns for starting the year off and helping the grade 3 students get settled into routines and their learning. I know Ms. Wong met many families who joined us for Meet the Teacher evening last week and she looks forward to connecting with all families throughout the month of October. A few notes from CPS School Council:

A special shout out to Mr. Romeo and Ms. Izha on Thursday (Custodial Staff Appreciation Day) for all the work they do each and every day for keeping our school looking so clean and organized. We appreciate you both! Fashion day this week will be Wednesday where it will be ‘dress your best’ for school photos! Have a great week! The Admin Team |
