Week at a Glance ~ March 16-20

Karate Thursday – so fun! Be sure to ask the students what they learned about this sport.

Our Ani to Pisi work continued last Friday when our guests from MRU worked with students to introduce the concept of the web and vibrations. We look forward to seeing how our web evolves as we complete our school-wide enactment April 10.

Thank you to the small group of parents/guardians who attended the CPS School Council sponsored information session last Thursday. We hope you gleaned some great tips on how to engage in reading with your child(ren) at home.

Parent-teacher conferences bookings are now live. Families can book a conference until Wednesday March 18 @11:59pm. Should you have questions about your child’s learning or parent-teacher conference, please email your child’s teacher. Conferences will run from 4:15-8:00 pm Thursday March 19 and from 8:30-1:30 pm Friday March 20. There is no school for students this Friday.

We would like to remind families that next week is Spring Break. Students have no school from Friday March 20 until Friday March 27. Classes resume Monday March 30. We hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable break.

We are taking a modified approach to concerts this year. Grade 1 and 2 students are very excited to be preparing a Spring Concert for family audiences taking place on May 7th. There will be two performances, one at 10:30am and another at 2:15pm. Please save the date and continue to read the weekly messages for future details. For any inquiries, please reach out to Ms. Rickard at aerickard@cbe.ab.ca.

The luck of the Irish is with us this week. Fashion Tuesday will be ‘wear green’ in honour of St. Patrick’s day.

Upcoming Important Dates:

March 17 – St. Patrick’s Day

March 19 – Navroz

March 20 – Spring Equinox

March 20 – Id-al-Fitr
