Week at a Glance ~ May 25-29

Hello CPS Families,

Ahhhhh finally a great weekend of nice weather! Maybe spring has finally arrived in the last week of May!

As the weather gets consistently warmer, we notice more students riding bikes, scooters  and skateboards to school. We would like to remind everyone that students need to walk their walk their bike/scooter  and carry their skateboard while on school property. This is for the safety of everyone as it can be quite congested coming and going from school each day. Everyone is also reminded to attend to signage which indicates where scooters and skateboards are not permitted (i.e. front of the school). Lastly, we would like to remind students and families that ‘wheelies’ (shoes with wheels) should not be worn to school.

We would like to thank our school volunteer tea committee and our student performers for providing an opportunity to acknowledge the work done by our small but mighty group of volunteers. We could not do what we do at CPS without you!

We would like to express a heartfelt thank you to all the volunteers who assisted with adhering our bison to the fence last Friday. It was a beautiful day and the students were super excited to see their work go up along the fence. Classes will be taking some time in the coming days to do an ‘art walk’ to locate their own bison as well as make connections to other painted bison on the fence. This project has been a great learning opportunity and we wish to once again thank our CPS School Council and Parent Association for their financial support in this endeavour.

Speaking of CPS School Council, did you know they are always looking for volunteers to help run events and support fundraising for our school? All parents/guardians with children attending our school are part of the council and parent association. The Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held Thursday June 11 @ 6:30pm and many positions remain unfilled. If you can volunteer a few hours in support of the school, council would love to have you as part of the team. Please see the email sent last week with specific roles that require filling and/or attend the meeting to find out more. For specific questions, please contact the team directly at citadelparkschoolcouncil@gmail.com  and follow them on Instagram @citadelparkparent

Reminders for parents include:

  • Payment of all fees are required prior to the end of the school year. Please log into your MyCBE account to pay any outstanding fees to avoid having your account proceed to collections.
  • Yellow school bus registrations are now open for the 2026-2027 school year through your MyCBE account. Families must register by June 14, 2026 for students to have their address included in routing which occurs over the summer months and to ensure students are able to ride the bus beginning on the first day. Delays in registration will result in delays in your child being able to ride the bus in the fall. The fee for transportation next year will be $500.00. Please see email sent to families last Thursday May 21, 2026 for full details.
