Week at a Glance ~ June 8-12
June is always a busy month. So far, we have hosted our Open House for new students in grades 1-5 and our new Kindergarten students beginning this fall. We have completed our last fire drill for the year and our morning kindergarten students attended their field trip to Butterfield Acres. The next three weeks will continue to be busy with the following activities:
Some students missed their Alien Inline skating sessions on May 12 and 13. These sessions will be made up this week:
Monday June 8 - Ms. Wong, Ms. Zhu, and Ms. Walker's classes
Tuesday June 9 - Ms. Frank, Ms. Marshall, Ms. Sinon, Ms. Cabral, and Ms. Behan-Fossey's classes
If your child has a helmet, please send it with them on their skating day.
Thursday June 11 from 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm our CPS School Council and Parent Association will be hosting their Annual General Meeting (AGM). Parents/guardians are invited to attend either in-person or online by clicking the link below.

If you have a current, valid police security clearance and are available to volunteer on June 24 between 9:15 and 11:45, please email Alison Bates-Church at albates@cbe.ab.ca.

CBE yellow school bus transportation registration can be completed through your MyCBE account. To have your address considered in routing and to be able for your child to ride the bus beginning in September, families must register by the deadline of June 14. Families can withdraw without financial penalty by the end of September if plans change and your child no longer requires bus service. Please visit the CBE Transportation webpage for further information.
For the past several weeks, families have been reminded through weekly messages about paying outstanding school fees. As a school, we have over $5,000 in uncollected fees, which will impact our year end budget. Notices are now being sent directly to families to recoup this money. Please help us avoid a budget deficit and refrain from having fees going to collections by logging into your MyCBE account to pay any outstanding fee amounts this week.
Our library is full of great books, but we do not have any 'board books' (books made of durable, thick paperboard with rounded edges). If your family has any board books you are looking to get rid of, please consider donating them to the school. Thank you!
Fashion Friday this week will be ‘rainbow day’.
Have a great week! 15 more get ups!
