Week at a Glance ~ October 5 - October 9, 2026
|
We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day for our Terry Fox Run last week! Thank you to all of the volunteers who came out to support us and to the families who were there cheering our students on. Citadel Park School has raised more than $2,000 for the Terry Fox Foundation! Thank you for your continued generosity and support of this important cause. Speaking of support, thank you to the families who volunteered at the casino this weekend. Casino funds provide support to our school community and allow us to offer our students many opportunities and experiences throughout the year. We appreciate the time and energy our families contribute to our school. Truth and Reconciliation September 30 marked the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Our school’s Truth and Reconciliation Commitment is now posted on our website. This year, we have committed to applying Indigenous ways of doing, knowing, being and belonging to foster deeper connections between our students and place. You can read our commitment here: Citadel Park Truth and Reconciliation Commitment World Teachers’ Day Tomorrow is World Teachers’ Day! This day provides an opportunity to celebrate the important role educators play in the lives of children and communities, while also recognizing the ongoing challenges facing the teaching profession. We are incredibly grateful for the dedicated and caring teachers at Citadel Park School. Their commitment to our students and their learning makes a difference every day! International Walk to School Week The weather to start this week is looking beautiful! Did you know that October 5–9 is International Walk to School Week? If you live within walking distance of the school, we encourage you to take advantage of these beautiful fall days and walk to school whenever possible. If you choose to ride a bike or scooter to school, please remember to “walk your wheels” once you arrive on school property. This includes the sidewalks around the bus loop, the area near the playground and the back field near the school. Thank you for helping us prioritize safety over convenience and for keeping our school community safe! School Council Meeting – Wednesday Our monthly School Council meeting takes place this Wednesday. We are excited that our School Council has arranged for our School Board Trustee, Jenny Regal, to join us. If you would like to join us in person, please come to the school at 6:30 p.m. If you would prefer to join virtually, please use the Teams link below: Microsoft Teams meeting Join: https://teams.microsoft.com/meet/225706927635284?p=Fn4vbuLaZsusF7rIn9 Meeting ID: 225 706 927 635 284 Passcode: 6KS6z4hs Other Important Upcoming Dates
